2014 Shoe Series: Asics Cheer 7

What's the second best thing to a new cheerleading season? New cheerleading shoes, obviously. You can finally throw away your old, dingy, no longer white, smelly shoes. Maybe they don't even fit you anymore. It's definitely time to get a new pair. But which pair? Do you like your old ones or do you want a change? Every year your favorite brands like Asics, Nike, Kaepa, Axeus (Contain your excitement--we'll get to them in a later post), and so many more come out with brand new styles of shoes to help you and your local squad perform at a peak level. And each year their shoes get better and better. So here we are to start our 2014 Shoe Series. Sit back and let us do all the research for you. Keep checking back each week for the next review.

First up on the list? The Asics Cheer 7. I'm sure many of you are a little disappointed to hear this, as you are avid Cheer 6 fans. Don't worry! The Cheer 7 is almost the exact same, it just recieved a little bit of a face lift to make it even better. The Cheer 7 has a much lower profile than the Cheer 6 making it even more sleek and versatile for all of your cheerleading skills. Asics has dropped the weight down of this shoe to 7.1 ounces and added a rubber outsole to increase durablity. That rubberized outsole is paired with their EVA sole. We could get all boring and technical and tell you what EVA really is, but all you really need to know is that it is a lightweight and flexible sole.

Because of this, they can be worn both indoors and outdoors. Score! They're also extremely comfortable--trust us, we've tried them on and tested them out. They're pretty awesome, and they already have that "broken-in, my feet love me" feeling because of the extra padding in the tongue and around the ankle.

The Cheer 7 is made out of a synthetic upper which makes it incredibly easy to clean. Most dirt will just wipe away with a clean cloth and some warm water. Because who wants dirty looking cheer shoes? Not us, that's for sure. Last but not least they have not forgotten the color cards for you to match your uniform.

And for those of you who are having a little separation anxiety about leaving the Cheer 6, while they are limited, we do have some left in-stock for you to snatch up before they're officially retired. So is this your new shoe for the season? Or do you need us to do a little more digging for you? Don't worry, we've got you covered.
